ABOUT US
Booker Common and Woods Protection Society
Booker Common and Woods Protection Society (BCWPS) was formed in April 1982 to conserve and protect the rural environment of the area, which is comprised of the open commons of Booker and Ferniefields, Booker Woods, Newmer Common Woods, Sunters Wood, the surrounding Greenbelt and Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty in which we live. A group of local residents set up a committee led by Allan Duggin who acted as Chairman until 1998. The committee of local members meets every 2 months and an Annual General Meeting is held at Booker Memorial Hall in May each year.
We welcome residents from Booker and the surrounding areas to become members and support the aims of the Society. The Society is run on a voluntary basis, some members acting as committee members, others preferring the more practical work.
